Shows.

It is that time of the yearagain where networks decide what shows to renew and what shows to drop. I LOVE my shows, so it always sucks when they drop shows that i think are good.

For starters, i should probably tell you which shows I am currently viewing: 90210, Hart of Dixie, Ringer, Secret Circle (although, I am very behind), Gossip Girl, Modern Family, Don't Trust The B in Apartment 23, Last Man Standing, Awake, Lying Game, Pretty Little Liars, Switched At Birth, Whitney, Revenge, Parenthood, Mob Wives, Housewives of NJ and Bev Hills, Joan Knows Best, Giuliana and Bil, Shameless, Girls, and I'm sure I missed a few..

I'd like to dedicate a few posts a week of show recaps and my analysis. For this post, I'll update everyone on which shows have been renewed and what the major networks are doing.
  • Cougar Town- I used to view this show, partly because I am a huge Friends fan and feel obligated to watch anything done by those characters. This show stars Courtney Cox and as if you couldn't guess from the title, she is a cougar. The show was OK when i viewed, but it lost its charm and the humor was lack luster. ABC cut their season short and didn't premier until the mid season. Now it looks like TBS might buy the rights to it. If you are a Courgar Town fan and were worried it was going to be calcelled, you might be able to see it on TBS.  UPDATE: TBS has ordered a 15 episode 4th season.
  • Mob Wives- renewed for a 3rd season—yay! It will return in the beginning of 2013! This is one of my favorite reality shows. I love these girls (except for Karen) and I love their bad as- personality. I cannot get enough of Drita, Carla, and of course, Big Ang. The reunion special will air on VH1 May 20 and 27. Mob Wives Chicago also premiers in June!
  • ABC Family buys a detective drama, ‘The Keys,’ produced by Ashley Tisdale—who knew she could produce? The Keys will follow a young woman unraveling the secrets of a resort off the coast of Florida. Interesting—I’ll tune in!
  • Gossip Girl- it looks like it will come back for a 6th and final season. According to Chace Crawford, “Nate Archibald,” the season will most likely be a partial one.  Since ratings have been slipping, and the characters have all hooked up with each other numerous times, it’s time to move on.
  • NBC picks up a Jimmy Fallon produced commedy "Guys With Kids." Guys is about a group of thirty something year old guys who feel they are not ready for kids, but actually have kids. This could be good if it's funny enough, or it could end up like "Man Up," which ABC dumped after a few episodes.
  • Fox cancels Alcatraz, The Finder, I Hate My Teenage Daughter, and Breaking In, but it renews Touch. Alcatraz had so-so rating and it was largely expected to be canceled. touch is the Kiefer Sutherland drama that had a rough start, but picked up a little. Fox has a long standing relationship with Kiefer because of his hit series 24, so perhaps that helped the show get picked up.
  • NBC renews Parenthood (yay!) for a 15 episode season 4
  • ABC renews The Bachelor, Shark Tank, Dancing with the Stars, Once Upon A Time, Suburgatory, Revenge, The Middle, Grey's Anatomy. On the brink of being renewed-- Last Man Standing, Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23, and Happy Endings
  • NBC renews Fashion Star. I only watched this show a few times and I thought it was promising, but I just was not overly hooked, which is odd because I love the judges and the concept. I think I'll try to add this show to my line up for next year.

The Voice

Last night, the winner of The Voice was crowned. As expected, Blake’s Jermaine Paul won the record deal. The difference in votes between each singer was incredibly close mainly because they were all phenomenal. The votes were broken down accordingly: Jermaine Paul, Juliet Simms, Tony Lucca, and Chris Mann. The expression on Blake’s face was priceless during the whole elimination (all 7 minutes of it). At first, you could see his nervousness, but that quickly changed to an “I’ve got this” face. As soon as Jermaine was crowned, Blake was beyond excited and down-right happy. You can tell how much he genuinely cares about this show. Love him.

The two hour finale was dragged out and there were performances from everyone under the sun (previous Voice contestants from both seasons, Flo Rider, Lady Antebellum, Justin Bieber, any many more). I didn’t hate seeing old contestants get the remainder of their 15 minutes of fame, but I just wanted to know the winner! Having to wait until 11pm was far too late for me.

Unless you live under a rock, I am sure you have all heard about the huge blow out fights between Christina and Adam, and well, Christina and everyone. Just from watching the show you can tell Christina is a mega diva and a bitch. She gives everyone attitude and picks on certain people (i.e. Adam’s Tony Lucca).

It is being reported that Adam and Christina had a HUGE fight and she is demanding he be fired from next season. There are even more reports coming out that the production team wants Christina fired because she has become so incredibly difficult to work with. Christina is saying Adams picks on her and she is “sick of it!” Do I believe this? Nope. Truthfully, she is my least favorite judge who always needs to be the center of everything. She is probably just bitter that she lost two years in a row. Even though her team was good I purposely didn’t want to vote for them because she was their coach. I know, I know that sounds terrible of me, but I cannot stand her as a judge. I’d be perfectly happy if she got the boot from next season. Actually, I’m hoping she does! I think she has an incredible voice and I think she is one of the few female singers that can actually sing, but her attitude instantly turns me off. Oh, and one more thing: please wear pants Christina. Even if you were a size zero your outfit last night would still be inappropriate.

I cannot wait for the next season of The Voice and I hope it come back in the fall, instead of the spring!

tv shows

Live Blogging: The Voice:

One of my absolute favorite shows right now is The Voice. I have been watching since last season and i truly believe the talent is superb. I LOVE the judges and their playful banter. Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are my favorite and i believe they genuinely care about their team members.

A few of my favorites have gotten voted off (James Massone), but the 4 contestants left are so damn talented and will absolutely get a record deal. The four left are Jermaine Paul (Team Blake), Juliet Simms (Team Ceelo) Chris Mann (Team Christina) and Tony Lucca (Team Adam).

Jermaine Paul is my favorite and I want him to win for sure. He was a backup singer for Alicia Keys before the Voice and he has been saved by the viewers every week so far. He is a stand out star that puts his whole heart into every song and i cannot get enough of it. I highly recommend checking him out on iTunes or on nbc.com/thevoice.

Juliet Simms is my second favorite. She has a great rocker voice and is kind of raspy sounding. She is right up there with Jermaine. If she doesn't win she will get signed in a heartbeat.

Tonight, Jermaine sang "I believe I can Fly" and I’m pretty sure he just got a standing ovation from all the judges. In the words of Christina, "You shined." "You're so powerful. You are an incredible singer."-- Adam Levine. "I'm speechless. My job is to be a coach, but I continue to feel like I learn from you." --Blake Shelton

Tony Lucca sang "99 Problems" by Jay-Z, which was a huge risk, but he pulled it off like he always does. You cannot even tell this song was originally a rap song--he made it sound like rock song, which is impressive. I would and will download this song immediately after the show. What i really like about Tony is that he always pushes the envelope and does something completely out of the box. "What a real cool version of that song"--Blake Shelton. "I thought it was hot. I like it"--Ceelo Green. "I thought you did an amazing job. I love you. I believe in you" --Adam Levine

Juliet Simms sang “Free bird,” and although I love her, this song just didn’t do it for me. She sang it really well, but compared to the others, it fell a little short.

Chris Mann sang “You Raise Me Up,” and he also did really well. Although Chris has a great voice, I just don’t think he is the top contender. I am also really bias because I am not a fan of Christina (his coach)—especially after last night. Her playful arguments with Adam are for the most part funny and cute, but last night was too much. She clearly has an issue with Adam and his team (Tony). She needs to get off her high horse and move on.

Voting closed at 10am this morning and yes, I did of course vote for my favorites. The season finale is tonight at 9pm and the winner will be crowned. I am very nervous! I think that it is between Jermaine (Team Blake) and Tony (Team Adam).

New Obsession: Floral Jeans.

Now that the spring is finally here it is time to bust out a whole new wardrobe (thank God). The transition into spring and summer is probably one of my favorite times of the year because I despise the winter months and winter clothing (exceptions: chunky sweaters, hats, and scarves). There is just nothing I like more than spring and summer clothing.

This season, floral patterns have been all the rage and I cannot wait to buy into this trend.I'm especially loving floral jeans and shorts. Back in February I saw a few pairs of floral jeans in Bloomingdales and I thought, "who the hell is going to wear these?" After giving it some thought I realized I would. Now, more than likely I will get teased by my boyfriend and well everyone. Do I care? Nope. Bring. It. On. Bitches.

Current/Elliott Shorts - Floral Printed Boyfriendâ„¢ in Sweet Cream Ditsy Wash
Citizens of Humanity Jeans - "Mandy" Floral Print High Waist Roll Up

Floral patterns can easily be dressed down or up. The Current Elliot floral shorts are super casual and easy. Minka Kelly's floral ensemble with her leather top is an example of dressing them up. Although I love those jeans, they are Dolce and Gabbana and, sigh.  No matter where you want to wear your florals, I would recommend keeping it simple on the top--plain and simple (i.e. a white tank top).

If jumping heard first into this trend is a little too daunting--I mean you need to have some serious balls to rock these outfits with confidence--start small. A floral top, dress, shoe, or scarf. Work our way up to the shorts, and if you are really brave, the jeans. Most importantly, have fun with it

celebrity obsessed

I think when it comes to celebrities, everyone for one reason or another, is simply interested and somewhat invested in their lives. I often ask myself, "why?" For me, the answer is simple: It's an escape and I am flat out obsessed with the lifestyles of the rich and famous (to quote Good Charlotte).

Like many people, I subscribe to all the tabs--US, People, Life and Style, In Touch, and if OK! has a really juicy story, I'll purchase. I check all the gossip sites on a dily--almost hourly basis-- Hollywood Life, Perez Hilton, TMZ, the list goes on and on...

I would like to make my "celebrity obsessed" pages a recap of all the juicy dirt that happens in the land of celebrities. I will also give my two cents about what is going on. And believe me I have a lot to say.

Celebrity Highlights: the week of April 30, 2012

  • Jessica Simpson had her baby, Maxwell Drew Johnson, almost 10bs. Although I love her and admire her for his busniss say ways, it felt like she was pregnant for 18 months because of her weight. It's all good though because she has a million+ deal with Weight Watchers to lose that baby weight. Lucky her.
  • Kim Kardashion and Kanye West are not only official, but they are talking marriage. WHATTT??? I was always a fan of the Kardashians and tuned into all of their shows, but now it is getting flat out ridiculous. PA-LEASEEE. Kim needs to stop doing things strickly for publicity.
  • Lady Gaga and her boy top split. Whomp, Whomp. Who didn't see that one coming?
  • Britney Spears and Demi Lovato will be judges on the X Factor
  • The CW renews: 90210, Vampire Diaries, Supernatural. When are they going to renew Gossip Girl, Secret Circle, Hart of Dixie, and most importantly, Ringer??!

Products.

I am always on the hunt for the next best thing. The product that will instantly work miracles. When I saw the new Garnier Ultra-Lift face cream advertised in just about every magazine I immediately wanted to try it. I searched every drug store for this cream and only found it at Target ($14.99). According to Garnier's website, it is a "2-in-1 anti wrinkle serum plus moisturizer." I was instantly sold. I am a sucker for anything that promises...well, anything.

I bought this on Saturday and have been using it for 5 days now and I do not notice any significant changes in my skin yet. However, my skin does feel nice and smooth and well hydrated. The cream is very light weight and my skin absorbed it really well. It does not have a strong fragrance, which is a plus. The cream has also not caused my skin to break-out, which is always my number one concern when trying a new face product.

As for my wrinkles, I will give this miracle in a bottle it a few weeks to do its magic.
