For starters, i should probably tell you which shows I am currently viewing: 90210, Hart of Dixie, Ringer, Secret Circle (although, I am very behind), Gossip Girl, Modern Family, Don't Trust The B in Apartment 23, Last Man Standing, Awake, Lying Game, Pretty Little Liars, Switched At Birth, Whitney, Revenge, Parenthood, Mob Wives, Housewives of NJ and Bev Hills, Joan Knows Best, Giuliana and Bil, Shameless, Girls, and I'm sure I missed a few..
I'd like to dedicate a few posts a week of show recaps and my analysis. For this post, I'll update everyone on which shows have been renewed and what the major networks are doing.
- Cougar Town- I used to view this show, partly because I am a huge Friends fan and feel obligated to watch anything done by those characters. This show stars Courtney Cox and as if you couldn't guess from the title, she is a cougar. The show was OK when i viewed, but it lost its charm and the humor was lack luster. ABC cut their season short and didn't premier until the mid season. Now it looks like TBS might buy the rights to it. If you are a Courgar Town fan and were worried it was going to be calcelled, you might be able to see it on TBS. UPDATE: TBS has ordered a 15 episode 4th season.
- Mob Wives- renewed for a 3rd season—yay! It will return in the beginning of 2013! This is one of my favorite reality shows. I love these girls (except for Karen) and I love their bad as- personality. I cannot get enough of Drita, Carla, and of course, Big Ang. The reunion special will air on VH1 May 20 and 27. Mob Wives Chicago also premiers in June!
- ABC Family buys a detective drama, ‘The Keys,’ produced by Ashley Tisdale—who knew she could produce? The Keys will follow a young woman unraveling the secrets of a resort off the coast of Florida. Interesting—I’ll tune in!
- Gossip Girl- it looks like it will come back for a 6th and final season. According to Chace Crawford, “Nate Archibald,” the season will most likely be a partial one. Since ratings have been slipping, and the characters have all hooked up with each other numerous times, it’s time to move on.
- NBC picks up a Jimmy Fallon produced commedy "Guys With Kids." Guys is about a group of thirty something year old guys who feel they are not ready for kids, but actually have kids. This could be good if it's funny enough, or it could end up like "Man Up," which ABC dumped after a few episodes.
- Fox cancels Alcatraz, The Finder, I Hate My Teenage Daughter, and Breaking In, but it renews Touch. Alcatraz had so-so rating and it was largely expected to be canceled. touch is the Kiefer Sutherland drama that had a rough start, but picked up a little. Fox has a long standing relationship with Kiefer because of his hit series 24, so perhaps that helped the show get picked up.
- NBC renews Parenthood (yay!) for a 15 episode season 4
- ABC renews The Bachelor, Shark Tank, Dancing with the Stars, Once Upon A Time, Suburgatory, Revenge, The Middle, Grey's Anatomy. On the brink of being renewed-- Last Man Standing, Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23, and Happy Endings
- NBC renews Fashion Star. I only watched this show a few times and I thought it was promising, but I just was not overly hooked, which is odd because I love the judges and the concept. I think I'll try to add this show to my line up for next year.
